Look at the picture and tap the scrambled letters to spell the word in the language you're learning. Tap a letter in your answer to send it back; tap ↻ to clear the whole answer.

Open Settings (the gear at the top left) and change I speak, My profession or I want to learn. The two languages must be different.

Your progress is saved separately for each language you learn, so switching keeps your old progress.

Choose Not listed? at the bottom of the profession menu and type your job (up to 40 characters). The words will be chosen for that job.

Yes, to get new words and pictures. If the connection drops, the app shows a "No internet connection" screen and continues by itself as soon as you're back online.

LearnScrumble is free for 20 words every day. The count starts again at midnight. The app checks the real time online, so changing the date on your phone doesn't add more words.

A subscription unlocks unlimited words, review of the words you got wrong and the choice of voice.

In the app: Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription. Or on your iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → LearnScrumble.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple — you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Open Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.

Check these, in order:

1. Settings → Daily reminder: "Remind me every day" is on and the time is right.
2. If you see "Notifications are off for LearnScrumble", tap Open Settings and allow notifications.
3. The reminder is skipped on days you've already played before that time — that's on purpose.
4. Reminders are planned a week ahead each time you open the app. If you don't open it for more than a week, they stop until you open it again.

In Settings → Audio set the speech speed and tap Try it to listen. With a subscription you can also choose the voice for each language.

More and better voices can be downloaded for free on your iPhone: Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices.

The word plays even when your iPhone is on silent, because you asked to hear it (the game's other sounds follow the silent switch). Check that the volume is up — press the volume buttons while the word is playing. If one language is silent, download a voice for it (see the question above).

Settings → Progress → Reset progress deletes your answers in the language you're learning now. This can't be undone. Other languages are not affected.

Words, translations and pictures are created with AI and may contain mistakes. Please write to us with the word, your two languages and a screenshot — corrections help every learner.

LearnScrumble has no account and doesn't send your progress anywhere: your settings and answers stay on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes them.

One small record — how many free words you used today — is kept in your iPhone's secure storage (Keychain) and stays after the app is deleted, so the daily limit can't be reset by reinstalling. Read more in the Privacy Policy.

Your words and pictures are created by OpenAI's AI, so the app has to send it your job, your two languages and the English names of the words you've already practised (so they aren't repeated). We ask before anything is sent, as Apple and privacy law require. Without your agreement the app can't create words. You can read the same explanation any time in Settings → Legal and support, and more in the Privacy Policy.

Usage statistics are off unless you switch them on. Change it any time in Settings → Legal and support → Share usage statistics to help improve the app. Crash and error reports are sent either way, so we can fix problems; they include the two languages you chose, but never your job, the words you practise or your answers.

No. LearnScrumble teaches workplace vocabulary. It doesn't replace the safety training at your workplace — always follow the instructions of your employer and safety staff.
